HEXALOCK Copy Protection:

HexaLock's Virtual Digital Hologram copy protection technology provides a high barrier against illegal consumer copying and professional piracy of CD-ROMs and CD-RX. Each data lock is independently encrypted and subsequently decrypted. The locks are hidden and it is not possible to create a generic crack and put a short running file on the Internet to be downloaded. When making a copy of an original protected disc the VDH pattern will disappear and a static bit pattern will result. The HexaLock software will detect the absence of the VDH pattern and act accordingly. Less than 1MB of capacity is required for full HexaLock implementation. The results to date with actual protected titles, across multiple platforms and multiple CD-ROM drives, show excellent compatibility with no reports of incompatibility issues. HexaLock technology is compatible with windows 9X/ME/NT/2000 and XP operating systems. Note that HexaLock protects all the data on the disc including a variety of file types(requires Acrobat Reader 6.0 or greater) - whereas Sony SecuROM protects only the executable (.exe) files.
